Sean Mcarthy was a 25 year old Australian soldier that was deployed to Afganistan and served with the Special Air Service Regement. He was carrying out operations in the Oruzgan Province when he was killed while patrolling. Signaller Mcarthy was regarded as one of the most experienced and outgoing and knowledgeable soldiers by his Commanding Officers, comrades, family and friends. The details of his death are unknown by the public, and his body has been returned home to Ausrtalia via a RAAF C130 Plane.

I believe that Signaller Mcarthy was indeed a corageous man as are all of our Australian soldiers and he was in amongst the most highly regarded special forces teams in the world. It is unclear why he has died, but in a high risk combat environment it is hard to stay alive as the level of alertness must be 100% all of the time and there is no margin for error.
